Old Arc is the collaborative work of Stefen Lazer & Austin Lee, from Santa Cruz, California. Founded in late 2009, the duo has released multiple independent releases including their debut self titled E.P. along with the two singles “Stay Calm” & “Queen of dusk”. In addition to their independent releases, Old Arc has worked with Amdiscs to produce a digital single entitled “SleepCatcher” (http://www.amdiscs.com/?page_id=3719) with remixes by Space Ghost, The Cogito, and Forest Dre∆m. OA has also released a numerous selection of songs that is exclusively obtainable via DIY merchandise currently only accessible at their shows. Lazer & Lee have remixed the likes of Alex Winston, Local Natives, Flash Fiction, Persona La Ave, Toro Y Moi, & Religious Girls.
Old Arc’s live set is similar to a meta-physical journey to enlightenment. The duo puts extreme effort and energy into their performance, creating a substantial effect on their audience’s status of interest. Many performances are interpretive scenes using costumes and sensory band/audience interactions, based on the conceptualized fictions and theories that the two share in common.
In 2012 Stefen Lazer & Austin Lee recruited 3 new members to their live performance including: Kaili Smith (Vocals) Mason Rosenberg (Bass) & Gregory James (Drums). Though many of the Old Arc recordings are primarily digital, the band has definitely captured and enriched the true sound and soul of the live performance with the new members. Since ’09 Old Arc has performed alongside: Pictureplane, Blackbird Blackbird, Born Gold, Seapony, oOoOO, Whirr, Meat Market, Persona La Ave, Kites Sail High, Happy Trendy, Placentaur, Little Ghost, Yalls, Nursery, Prism Pane, Bro Montana, Dom, Thee Bank, Foxes in Fiction, Babe Rainbow, Call Before You Dig, R&B Millionaires, Soft Metals, Phantom Kicks, Grizzly J, Aeropsia, Tree, Superman Fast, Nikhil , Jolly Lammas, Wolf feet, Cousins, Wanderdusk, Butterclock, Religious Girls, Netherfriends, Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt, Horrorscopes, Dempsey, Birdhand, Cuckoo Chaos, and more.

ATTENTION!: friends/family/bloggers/bands/fans/(anyone really). Due to a recent turn of events in our lives (divine intervention perhaps?…maybe aliens?), it has become our immediate goal to set up a completely DIY tour across the country. Knowing that this won’t exactly be the easiest goal in the world, we are reaching out to you guys to point us in some of the right directions. If you would like us to come to your town/state and know of any venues that might be able to book us, we would love to hear about them. Lets make this a reality! We love all of you and we want to hang out! PS: On another note, we will be releasing a brand new ep in (possible) support of this tour, along with some other merch and a new video on the way!

Divination by Baromet will take you to the future of music.
This new single out tonight on UfΩLK RECORDS is the precursor to an album that will show no mercy in the eyes of its contemporaries.
Stefen Lazer Smith has been hard at work so we can have something special this summer. Like most DIY producers Stefen’s been at this for quite some time; and its starting to really show. The production quality he’s developed is starting to become something more than music, it’s as if you can see the colors of the sounds he decidedly commits so perfectly to each song.
As ‘Divination’ begins you may lose focus of the pre-assumed esthetic the song would cary. Then before too long you realize the groove of the song already has you nodding a ridicules (somewhat tribal) head movement. Piano Flutters clearly while you realize somehow you are peering through a mirrored cave that show’s you the A track or reel the song is playing from, then you notice it’s the year 2364 and everything is retrospect. Amongst the hallucinations, clarity becomes present and we realize the song has taken us far from where we were before hearing it. Thank you Baromet.
Along with a new awesome song we get two fucking great remixes. The first one by Sun Glitters, almost seems more of that like a B-side; confirming that the collaboration was made in heaven. The Second remix was done by Atlantic At Pacific, elaborating on the whole hip hop type feel that is so straight forward in the original. After listening to these three songs consecutively you realize the dynamics these artists have and flourish upon.
Stefen & I have an Old Arc remix of Locomotive by Alex Winston for you.

We feel showing all of you this remix is the best way to get it our there.
Many moons ago we worked on this and just haven’t known what to do with it.
It’s been long since you may have heard anything from us but rest assured we are still hard at work on new music and new live performances. Within the next few months we hope to have something really great to share with all of you.
Attached is an older song we have never released entitled GrainSpoiler.
We feel its the right time before the not so distant future to give these things to you.
